Angela Grossmann is a visual artist based in Vancouver whose work examines gender and body politics. The artist has exhibited throughout Canada, the United States, Europe, and Japan, including three recent Vancouver Art Gallery exhibitions and a major retrospective at the McMaster Museum of Art. Grossmann’s work has been the subject of numerous scholarly articles which speaks to the increasingly relevant narratives she dissects through painting, photography, and décollage. Douglas Coupland describes Grossmann’s work as material about “people who have been forgotten but have been preserved somehow. She gives their lives an arc, a trajectory, a mobility, a meaning.”
