Gillian McConnell holds a BFA from Queen’s University, with a major in etching and a minor in art history. An interdisciplinary artist, she employs abstraction and visual metaphor in works exploring paradox and challenging the status quo. McConnell has co-founded a conceptual art collective, curated many exhibitions, and won several art prizes. Her work is held in collections in Canada and Australia. A resident of Salt Spring Island, she also does picture framing and teaches workshops.
