Netherlands-born artist Marleen Vermeulen studied at the Design Academy in Eindhoven and the Academy of Fine Arts in Utrecht. In the 80s and early 90s, she enjoyed an extensive international and award-winning career in graphic design before moving to the Sunshine Coast in 1994. Inspired by the natural beauty of the Pacific West Coast, Vermeulen creates distinctive, large-scale oil landscapes that, through their scale, texture, and expansiveness, brilliantly capture the energy and rawness of the West Coast.
