Born in Port Alberni, Ross den Otter was raised in Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. He began his career as a newspaper photographer in the 1980s, when he was just a teen. Now, den Otter’s a mixed media artist who blends his interests in photography, metalsmithing, paint, and printmaking. Beyond his practice, he is an instructor in the digital photography program at the Vancouver Institute of Media Arts.
