Sheila Kernan’s work oscillates between realism and abstraction, referencing memory and imagination. Her compositions are meticulously crafted with intensely saturated colours, graphic forms, and thick painterly strokes that collide in multiple layers. After earning her BFA from the Alberta College of and Design in 2006, Kernan has gone on to showcase her work nationally in more than 40 exhibitions. In 2017, she was awarded a lifetime achievement award as the recipient of the ACAD Alumni Legacy Award.
