- Corleone Feb 3-25, 2017 A classic tale of power, destiny, betrayal and honour: what if Shakespeare had written The Godfather? This brilliant comic premise takes on surprising dramatic power as Coppola’s movie masterpiece shows itself to be true Elizabethan tragedy. Performed by Classic Chic’s all-female cast, including AU Instructor Kaitlin Williams, this mash-up of classic film and classical theatre ultimately charts the dizzying fall of a human soul. - Love Art: An Exhibition of New Works by Sleepless Kao & Jodi Sam

Visit a playful exhibition at Branches & Knots featuring more than 30+ works including original paintings and prings by Sleepless Kao (AU Media Arts Instructor Kaori Kasai) & Jodi Sam. The exhibition offers an opportunity to experience the world of childlike playfulness and kawaii (cuteness) she has created. Take a break from the cold, grey winter and come on down to Granville Island. Drop by Arts Umbrella for a winter-themed art exhibit featuring works by our Drawing & Painting students. (The exhibit runs from Feb 18-19, 2017). Don’t miss Arts Umbrella Dance Company’s Flash Mob happening at 11 am under the bridge, as they dance to the music of Prince, a piece choreographed by AU Instructor Lynn Sheppard.

This year we will also be presenting Come Together Staff and Alumni Night where the Arts Umbrella Staff and Alumni perform a variety of scenes, monologues and songs to help raise money for our Theatre and Music Department. An annual play Festival featuring a repertoire of seven ten-minute plays. Pull seeks out original, un-produced plays from Vancouver based playwrights, including AU Student Services Coordinator Kevin Hatch, and along with its artistic team, produces, develops, dramaturges and supports the presentation of these new works.
