The 20-year-old Arts Umbrella Invitational has a new name. Thanks to a multi-year partnership with Nicola Wealth Management (NWM), the annual golf event has been renamed the Nicola Wealth Management Invitational to benefit Arts Umbrella. This year’s event, which will be held on June 26, 2017, at the Point Grey Golf and Country Club, supports the Children’s Arts Umbrella Foundation and ensures sustainability for Arts Umbrella’s future.
“Nicola Wealth Management have been tremendous supporters of this tournament over the years and I am absolutely thrilled to welcome them as our title sponsor, beginning with our 20th annual invitational this year,” says Paul Larocque, president and CEO at Arts Umbrella. “With NWM as our title sponsor and community partner, I see nothing but a bright future for the tournament.”
Arts Umbrella supports more than 20,000 kids across the Lower Mainland every year, over 60 percent of them through free community programming. This golf tournament is a big part of making that happen.
“We’re excited to be a part of Arts Umbrella’s incredible event,” says David Sung, president of NWM. “By supporting one of Vancouver’s premier charity golf tournaments, we hope to enable this worthy organization to continue offering their exceptional arts programs to Lower Mainland youth.”
NWM is dedicated to giving back to the community in a meaningful way and aims to inspire that culture through setting an example. As long-time supporters of the Arts Umbrella Invitational, Sung felt it was time to make an even bigger impact.
“I look forward to strengthening our relationship with NWM as they become integrated with the growth of Arts Umbrella and our programs,” adds Larocque. “I’m sincerely appreciative to NWM and their team of enthusiastic volunteers.”
While the 2017 Nicola Wealth Management Invitational to benefit Arts Umbrella is already sold out, there are still a few dinner tickets remaining. Contact Emily Oswald, coordinator of special events at Arts Umbrella, for more information.
