Andrea Hébert

Andrea was born and raised in Ottawa, where she trained in various dance styles from ages 8-22, such as ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary. She transitioned into arts administration after graduating from York University, in Toronto, with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Fine Arts Cultural Studies. Her career began in marketing and fundraising at the National Gallery of Canada and Canada’s National Ballet School.

She moved to Vancouver to complete an Advanced Certificate in Arts & Entertainment Management at Capilano University, which led her to a job working with several of Vancouver’s independent contemporary dance companies as a grant writer, tour coordinator, and board liaison. She also volunteered with DanceHouse for 10 years, assisting with Front of House operations.

After obtaining a more specialized Associate Certificate in Fundraising Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), Andrea worked with the Children’s Wish Foundation as well as the Arts Club Theatre Company in donor relations, event management, and corporate sponsorship.

Andrea is creative, passionate, thoughtful, prides herself on a strong work ethic and an undeniable curiosity for the contemporary arts.

Andrea is honoured to be a part of the Arts Umbrella family, raising funds to make arts education accessible while supporting the development of the next generation of artists.
